Tim Rogers New Album ‘An Actor Repairs’ is out now

Released Friday April 28th, ‘An Actor Repairs’ is Tim Rogers seventh secessionist recording.

The songs on the forthcoming album were written and re-written over two years as an accompaniment to a performance piece Tim was attempting, concerning the retirement from the stage of an elderly Actor.   This latest album delves deep into human emotion via a set of songs which paint Rogers in a light perhaps not seen before – that of a man reflecting, considering, coming to terms with his own artistic mortality through the sphere of another.

‘Sex? Drugs? Sometimes all you want is a great story. They don’t make ’em like Tim Rogers anymore with “the spirit of Ollie Reed” he’s the last of the great rock stars, and there can be no denying he’s a great artist as well. An Actor Repairs is a masterwork.’ Stack Magazine

‘Piano, acoustic guitar, woodwinds, brass and double bass thread their way through most songs, giving them a late-night jazz club feel, with the skinny, wordy bard at the microphone soundtracking every heartbreak in the joint.’ Rolling Stone

‘The elder statesman gets more sartorial and sage-like with every album.’ Herald Sun

‘’The theatrical bent suits Rogers … his barroom bookishness conjures up sharp, sweet retorts … once again, another side of his talents.’  The Age

‘Rife with dense and beguiling imagery about growing old disgracefully, delivered with utmost grace.’ Rhythms Magazine

Tim Rogers will also be touring nationally this April and May playing songs from his twenty-eight years of recordings. With accompaniment by extraordinary musicians who should know better, the shows for the tour will take on a number of different incarnations owing to schedules and concentration.

Supporting in Canberra, Newtown, Milton, Geelong, Collingwood and Elsternwick, Steve Smyth returns to Australia specially to perform at these shows, and will be showcasing new material with his band.

Tickets are selling fast with shows in Milton, Hardys Bay, Newcastle and Old Bar already sold out.
